A study has been tracking 8,181 babies born in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar between 1969 and 1973, and of their children and grandchildren. It is the oldest such study in India, covering nearly 50 years and three generations. The study has given valuable results such as high mortality rate, nutrition, diabetes and onset of cardiovascular diseases.
