While the Intelligence Bureau had informed the joint parliamentary committee on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016, that 31,313 ‘minority’ migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan would be the immediate beneficiaries of the proposed amendments, home minister Amit Shah clarified on Wednesday that the actual number of these persecuted minorities may be far more.
