It's official: Apple's AirPower wireless charging mat is dead.
The company confirmed to Mashable it has canceled its high-anticipated AirPower charging mat announced in 2017.
"After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have cancelled the project," Apple Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering Dan Riccio said. "We apologize to those customers who were looking forward to this launch."
Despite AirPower's cancellation, Riccio said Apple still believes the future is wireless. "We continue to believe that the future is wireless and are committed to push the wireless experience forward." Read more...
