Farmers in Punjab on Thursday began their three-day ‘rail roko’ protest against the recently-passed farm bills, forcing the Railways to suspend several trains to avoid confrontation with the agitators. The call for agitation was given by the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, which was later supported by several farmers outfits. Besides rail roko, 31 farm organisations have also called for ‘Punjab Bandh’ on Friday.
