Thousands flock memorial in Bhima Koregaon

​The 'jay stambh' was erected by the British as a memorial for soldiers killed in the Koregaon Bhima battle on January 1, 1818. One person was killed and several injured in caste clashes that broke out on January 1 last year on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1818 battle.
