“The mandatory recital of Vande Mataram on the first day of every month has been stopped for the time being. It has been decided to implement this in a new manner. There is no ‘agenda’ behind this decision, nor do we oppose the singing of Vande Mataram. The song is embedded in our hearts and I, too, sing it. We will renew it but in a different form... BJP should not politicize it,” said Nath’s statement, issued a little before 10.30pm.
